Happy 18 months....

I know I'm a couple days late, but I'm having trouble finding time to blog lately. Anyway, I can't believe JR is already 18 months, time truly does fly by. Yesterday she had a doctor's appointment and the doc says all is well and she's doing great. She weighed in at 20 pds and 8.2 oz. Finally legal to turn around in the carseat, even though we long ago turned her around ;-) Check out some cute pics below. Enjoy :-)

Family day of fun!!!

Today we went to Tavo's union picnic at Santee Lakes. A good day of all day family fun! We were a little worried about going all day and Jaycee not getting a nap, but she did very well. At one point in the day she fall asleep in my arms and then I laid her down in the stroller and she took a nice 45 min nap. Got her energized for more fun :-) They had one of the jumpers with a slide and all kinds of bouncy fun and Jaycee just loved it. She would hold onto my hands and jump herself, it was too cute. Her prima Ariana was there also and they had fun times playing together :-) This year we didn't really win anything at the raffle, usually at least all kids get something, but Jaycee missed out this year. Always next year. We did win a bocce ball set, a fun game to play, but I'm sure won't get used much. Check out some cute pics of the fun day!

Silly Jaycee

The other day, Shamu thought he would get away from Jaycee by hopping on the couch. Boy was he wrong, she just climbed up on the couch after him. And then poor kitty, she got on top of him and tried to ride him by bouncing up and down on him. Which is something she does to both of us often when we are laying down on the floor or bed. I was able to catch a cute pic with the camera.

A lovely Sunday....

This morning Jaycee and I meet my BFF Maria and her girls at Balboa park while our husbands played in a golf tournament. First we visited the flower garden, some really beautiful plants in there. Then we let the girls run around for a while and headed off to visit the Train Museum. Jaycee was much more into the trains then I thought she would be :-) After the museum we went to ride the train and carousel. The girls had a lot of fun running around together and tired themselves out. Jaycee fall fast asleep in the car before we even left the parking lot and is still fast asleep in her crib now. Thanks Maria for everything, we had a GREAT time!

Jaycee and Estella running through the flower garden.

Looks like they could pass as sister's......

Sweet baby Victoria, she is always an angel when we go out and loves to smile! Such a good baby!

Date Night!!!!

My sis and I agreed we needed to make time for date nights for the four of us. We watch her kiddos and she watches our princess. Actually when she first moved back to SD last August we said we were going to have date nights and never stuck to it. But now we have it on the calendar for once a month and plan for it :-) Last month we went to dinner and hurried to get our princess because we had been away from her all day long. It was the first time we had spent that much time away from her. My sis watches Jaycee during the day on Friday's so it's easiest to have date night then so we can just come home from work and go. Last night we took our time with date night and had a nice time. First we had dinner and then went to an hour $20 massage. Yes, I said $20, it's a Chinese massage and it's different from our usual Monica massages, but it's still nice for $20. Monica is actually the person that told us about the place. Thanks Monica! Then after our massage we went bowling. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks sis!

A fun family weekend!!!

This weekend was full of family fun! Yesterday's post was about the parade, which was fun! We actually ended up going to the fireworks last night and are really glad we did. Jaycee's first firework show, besides when she was in my belly. She did so well and loved the fireworks! I thought the loud noise would upset her, but not at all. Her eyes were wide open and staring at all the pretty lights. Pointing at the ones she really liked. We took her dressed in her PJs ready for bed, so when we got home she was ready. She fall fast asleep and slept all night through :-)

Today we had softball in the morning and Daddy's team won...YAY! Late in the afternoon we went to a charity go kart racing event and we had a blast! We were there for several hours and Jaycee did very well. She's fast asleep right now and hopefully will sleep well again tonight.

Below are some recent pictures....enjoy!

Dancing in the streets........

This morning we went to our local community parade in Tierrasanta. Jaycee had a great time people watching and dancing to the music. It was a nice morning out and we enjoyed the beautiful weather. After dinner we plan to go check out the games and music in the park. Not sure we will stay for the fireworks, because I don't think Jaycee would make it. She only took a 45 minute nap this afternoon :-( Darn poo poo woke her up once again. Happens often during nap!

We hope you all are enjoying your Saturday also!

Oh and today Jaycee is 17 months, she is growing way too fast!

Happy 23rd Birthday Tia Diana

Today is Tia Diana's 23rd Birthday! We love you Tia!

Sleepy princess

I know...two posts in one day...what can I say. Jaycee is napping really well and I've already gotten things prepared for dinner and the dishes are clean so I'm playing on the computer. Yes, I have laundry I could be doing, but it can wait.

Jaycee still wakes up at least once every night and sometimes it can be really hard to put her back to sleep. But usually Dadda can get her back to sleep no problem, takes him like 10 minutes. I usually end up falling asleep next to her crib and wake up hours later on the floor:-( My aching back. Last night we had success....she slept from 7:30pm til 6am this morning. She did wake up at about 4:50am, but only fussed for about 2 mins and was back asleep. I hope it continues, we could really use a good night sleep. Currently we are testing things out and only dadda is getting up with her at night instead of me. So far so good and momma gets a break :-) Thanks amor, I love you!

The park

One of Jaycee's favorite things to do, is be outside. She is always asking....OUTSIDE? Here are some recent pics of a day at the park.

Baby hummingbird...no more

Monday was a sad day...came home from work and our little hummerbird friends are gone. The whole nest and the birds are gone, some bigger bird must have gotten a hold of them :-( The momma hummingbird was flying around looking for them, it was really sad. Above is one of the last pictures Tavo took of the momma feeding them. We are sad we are not going to get to see them grow there wings and fly away :-(

Shamu update

Above is a picture of Shamu. Jaycee thought he could use a baby and remote while sleeping on the couch. Silly girl. Shamu is such a good sport about it though.

Well, Shamu is home now and doing better. We still have the whole diabetes issue to deal with and keep under control. I feel so bad, Shamu probably wouldn't have gotten to the state he was last night if I did a better job taking care of him. Keeping up with checking his blood glucose that is. It's something you have to monitor all the time and I hadn't been once I thought we got his insulin dosage under control. We have a meter at home, it's just hard to get a good vein for blood and I need help doing it. Shamu's not too crazy about me poking at his ear with a needle. Especially since I'm already poking him twice a day with a needle to give him insulin. Tavo doesn't enjoy helping one bit which can make it hard also. If I'm not going to take the time to monitor his glucose then it's time for me to make a very hard decision. It's a decision I don't know I'm ready to make. Don't get me wrong I love my cats very much and want to do what is best for them both. I've always treated both my cats like my family and still feel like I do. It's just all getting very costly and draining. I feel like I would be giving up on him, if I didn't follow through with doing whatever I can to give him the best in his last years in life. I don't want Shamu to suffer or go through what happened last night again. Which means I need to be better about checking his glucose. I'm praying I can find the strength to keep going with it and give Shamu the best last years in life.

Shamu kitty

Just returned from an emergency vet visit for Shamu. Poor kitty. His blood sugar was way too low and he could have died tonight if I hadn't taken him. He couldn't walk and was a very sad kitty. I was on my way to take him to the ER vet and his regular vet doc called and meet me after hours at the hospital. I am so grateful. Shamu is in the care of the doc tonight and is doing well. His blood sugar is raising and he got some food in him. Hope to have much better news in the morning. Keep Shamu in your prayers. My sis is so awesome. She was able to come over tonight and help me with Shamu and even went with me to the vet. Thanks sis, I love you!

Hatched....

The little hummingbirds have finally hatched. They hatched this weekend. At first we only had one egg and a week later the momma laid another egg. So now we have two little hummingbirds in our backyard and we have been watching the momma feed them, it's so neat. We were finally able to get a couple pictures of them tonight and thought I would share. Enjoy!

O'applesauce

Jaycee has been showing interest in holding the spoon when feeding her. So last night we undressed her and gave her the bowl and spoon. The bowl had applesauce in it. She had big smiles and tired so hard, but every time she got it to her mouth it would fall in her lap. It was a sticky mess........which was followed by a bath, but I think she had fun :-) It was so cute and can't wait till she has mastered using a spoon all by herself. Not that I want her to grow up, but it would make things easier :-)
