Happy Birthday Ariana Luz

Today our little niece Ariana turns the big 1. Can't believe she is already 1. I know I'll be saying that about Jaycee here pretty soon also. Boy how they grow so fast. Happy Birthday Ariana. Gato update!

Gwendolyn is feeling much better. She has been eating and drinking really well. She is even jumping up on the couch now and walking all around the house. No more lethargic kitty, she is active again. You know she is back to her old self when she is mad when you brush her. She hasn't thrown up, which is great! Poor Gwen, only if we had known about the hyperthyroidism a long time ago. She is now on pill twice a day to control the hyperthyroidism. We will take her back to the vet in a couple weeks to check her blood and hopefully she will have gained some weight back. Thanks for all thoughts and prayers! Took the pictures below tonight.

Visitors

Del Mar Fair

Last Sunday Jun 28th we took Jaycee to the Del Mar Fair. She did really well, when she was tired she took a nap in the BabyBjorn. We wanted to go this year so she could check out the animals. When we arrived we noticed most of the animal exhibits were closed, we did find one opened and Jaycee was able to feed and pet some of the animals. It was too cute. She was so excited, smiling and laughing the whole time. She would reach out and pet the goats.

Garage sale find

This weekend I found a great toy at a garage sale for just $5. It's in really good condition and it is regularly $50 in the stores. Jaycee loves it and looks so cute playing with it. She is such a big girl. I love finding good deals.

Prayers for Gwendolyn

Thursday night (June 25th) I noticed Gwen acting funny. Something wasn't right she was trying to walk and fell over twice like a drunk person. Then she threw up. Throwing up is something of the norm around here with the cats so I didn't really think too much of it. However I was worried about her falling over twice and having a hard time walking. Then she walked up the stairs and I thought she is okay, but followed her and when I picked her up I couldn't believe how light she was. I looked at Tavo and said, "Something is wrong with Gwendolyn". Then I noticed something weird around her butt and a smelly odor. She was looking really sad; I thought I should take her to the ER vet right now. After talking with my sister, I decided to wait it out till the morning. I showed up at the vet 15 minutes before they opened and they were able to fit me in because they had a no show appointment. Yeah for Gwen! After seeing the doctor, we found out Gwen had an anal abscess. Last time I took her to the vet she weighed 10.2 and Friday morning she only weighed 6.9 pounds. Ofcourse by this time I'm feeling really bad, how could I not notice she had lost that much weight. They took blood work and find out she has hyperthyroid. She is now on antibiotic and also taking medication for the thyroid. Poor Gwen. I hope she is going to be okay and isn't in any pain. She goes back to see the doc in 3 weeks. She is getting old and I don't want to see her in any pain. She isn't acting herself at all and I'm hoping she starts feeling better soon. I'm praying for her and hoping she isn't in pain.

Party night

Saturday night Jaycee stayed up late, she was enjoying the party. Tavo, Jaycee and I went to our friends for an early evening BBQ. Jaycee was in a GREAT party mood. She wasn't fussy and was enjoying everyone around her. Around 9:30pm we decided it was time to go, Jaycee already in her PJs was ready and was fast asleep before we left. She was all tired out. It was way past her bedtime. We had lost track of time having a good time. Thanks for the great food and fun times guys. Check out some of the pictures below.

Happy Father's Day!

Today was a good day, I think Tavo enjoyed his 1st Father's Day. At least he said he did. We had our last softball game of the season in the morning and went out to brunch with friends after. Then everyone came to our house to hang out and play a game of poker. Been a really busy weekend, Jaycee had a party weekend. I'll have to post on the weekend fun later.

Happy 1st Father's Day Amor! You are a wonderful Father and Jaycee is so lucky getting to spend so much time with you. It's been such a wonderful experience for the both of you. Love you both!

Happy Half Birthday Princess!

Today Jaycee is 6 months old.......where does the time go! She has been doing some many new things.

Some of Jaycee's newest discoveries:

• how to blow raspberries with her mouth
• starting crawling
• laughs a lot more
• she bounces up and down when on your lap
• she has figured out that she has a right ear and hair, which she is always pulling
• kicks her little feet all the time
• lays on her side balancing on her elbow
• if you ask her for besos she will put her mouth up to your cheek, it's too cute

We love our little girl so much! She has so much personality and we love watching her grow everyday. The biggest highlight of my day is when I come home from work and see the big smile on her face, happy to see me.
